This unit provides an opportunity for students to expand and enhance their understanding of communication through the study of music, drama, dance, visual art, sculpture, architecture and poetry.
Independent Study
An independent study is an opportunity for students to use research skills to explore an area of interest in great detail, and is a basic part of our elementary gifted program. Students develop skills in different types of research to thoroughly investigate their topic. These skills include but are not limited to researching, experimenting, interviewing, surveying, and discussing. Topics are chosen by the students and agreed upon with the teacher. Students meet for an hour each week to research.
